Count on us for painless root canals

Endodnotics is commonly known as a root canal. It involves the removal of the pulp of the tooth.

If you’re experiencing a severely infected tooth, often the best course of action is a root canal. A root canal is a treatment designed to repair and save a badly damaged or infected tooth rather than removing it.

By removing the infected inner tissue—the pulp—of the tooth with a root canal, we both treat the current infection and help prevent a future infection. Since an infection can spread to other tissues surrounding the infected tooth, immediate action is important.

A relatively simple treatment

The root canal process begins by drilling a small hole in the tooth, through which the dentist removes the inner pulp. The dentist then seals this hole, or may choose to restore the tooth with a dental crown. Since we give every patient a local anesthetic before treatment—just like with fillings—patients typically don’t feel a thing.
